.The first step would be to wash you car thoroughly. This is not only to make your car clean, but also to find out all the spots where rust has settled in or the paint has flaked. For grit and dirt that has not completely dissolved in water use grease or wax to scrape it off. Use a CRC rust converter for any corroded or rust filled parts.
.The next step is drying - use several pieces of soft cloth to dry your car. Do not miss any spots.
.You can use body putty to even out the entire surface of the car.
.To strip all the paint from your car, you can make use of a chemical stripper, you need to make sure the surface is dust free and dry. And scrap off by using a putty knife or paint scrapper cautiously. Read the instructions carefully and apply it on the car using a normal paint brush. If needed, you can apply the chemical paint stripper again.
.Likewise, if you do not want any part of your car to be painted, now is the perfect time to stick a good quality masking tape on them. Stick on the tape only after finishing the sanding and body work.
.Use a primer evenly on the car, you can repeat the coats if needed. With a sand paper scrub out the primer, take your time while doing this. Continue applying the primer until you get a uniform outer surface.
.Now you need to mix the paint as per instructions given by the manufacturer. Load the paint gun's compartment with the paint. Paint the base coat carefully, and use sweeping motions as you paint. Use a good quality paint if you want it to last longer and have a superior finish.
.Now let the car dry for at least 15 - 20 minutes, before you apply the second coat. And let that dry for more than an hour.
.After it has dried completely, apply 3 additional clear coats, with a gap of 15 minutes between every coat.
.Make sure the place you dry you car in, is dust and insect free. Keep it away from sun and water, in an enclosed area.
.And you have a shiny, smooth and sleek car that looks brand new in hardly 5 - 6 hours.
