Hypnosis is a totally natural state of mind which occurs whereby the mind is heightened to a focused state of consciousness like being in a trance but you can willingly follow instructions or even suggestions. There are many books as well as courses showing you how to perform hypnosis as well as advising on the different techniques one can use. Hypnosis in used correctly has many valuable uses.

If you are going to hypnotise a person the first thing you need to do is get the persons permission. There are also various types of hypnosis like self hypnosis which takes a while before you see results and then there is professional hypnosis which is used by doctors and psychiatrists etc and finally there is stage hypnosis which is more autosuggestion than true hypnosis.

Many people want to know how to perform hypnosis well it is rather simple although one should have some knowledge on the subject. A room needs to be prepared that is quite and has a comfortable chair or bed in it as well as dim lights and the room must be free of all disturbances allowing the person to feel secure and comfortable. Classical or other soft music can be played in the background.

There are many different methods that can be used to induce hypnosis and one also needs to create a point of focus whereby the person can look at this focal point and in turn clear their thoughts as well as any other feelings and thoughts they may have. Meditation is powerful tools in helping the person alter their state of consciousness. Breathing exercises can also alter the state of consciousness but getting the person to take slow deep breathes. On inhalation they can see the air coming in as a beautiful bright force with love and good energy and on exhalation they can see the tension leaving in the form of a dark cloud. The person will become completely relaxed within a space of around ten to twenty minutes. Then you can start with the meditation or autosuggestion.

The best source that I find works very well in my meditations is the use of a water symbol and the clearer the water the better it is for the person as well as the use of trees and forests work well making the person feel safe and secure with elements they are familiar with. When they go under there is always a count of ten and many preferred to make use of stairs which makes it easier to go under and come out of hypnosis and works quickly and effectively.

When a state of altered consciousness has been reached the person will then follow your instructions. One should keep records of each person you see especially if this is done on a professional level especially if the person has more than one session for instance to break a habit or they want to find themselves again by addressing past issues. Hypnosis is a fantastic therapy and more people are choosing hypnotherapy.

Getting people to do things against their will it certainly not the purpose of hypnosis and there is nothing dangerous or evil about this practice either all hypnosis should be used for it to help people gain control over their own lives. Although I have experienced conversational hypnosis whereby a person makes statements as well as suggestions which influence another person into doing what they want.
