It is not unusual for Multilevel Marketers to spend the majority of their time on the activity of recruiting new reps, with little or no emphasis on training any new business partners. This can lead to limited duplication throughout an organisation and poor retention rates, so how can this be remedied to give every Associate in an organisation the best opportunity to excel and whos responsibility is coaching the whole team?

The concept of focusing your time on mentoring a group, even if your downline organisation is relatively limited might seem counter intuitive, but I ask you to put this thought to one side and consider the advantages of having a comprehensive training system in place that can coach everyone, rather than just distributors that you personally sponsor.

Each time a new rep joins your downline, one thing that must always happen is for them to realise that they are part of something huge! If a distributor enrols in your organisation and feels as though they are going to be required to work most things out on their own with just very basic advice and next to no support then they are likely to start with hardly no motivation and enthusiasm. This could be one of the major reasons why drop out rates in the MLM industry are so high.

It is often the case that you can't always rely on everyone in your Downline to provide adequate training and mentoring to keep a new Associate engaged and willing to put in the necessary hours and effort. This will be even more apparent as your team becomes much bigger, which is why it is advantageous for you to accept the responsibility of coaching all distributors in your downline (or those that are willing to learn!).

If you follow any of the Network Marketing industry leaders then this is exactly what they do. Many of the gurus not only embrace the responsibility of supporting their own group, but also accept the responsibility for supporting their contacts who work for different opportunities. The only way that this can actually be achieved is by building an automated training system.

Remember that you have a duty of care to everyone in your team, but if you also find methods to support others outside of your company then there is a good chance that they will feel they know and like you. Therefore there is also a good probability that they will email you if they are unsupported in their existing team and want to develop another business in a different company. This means that the result of taking the time to help other business builders can also increase your capacity to recruit new business partners indirectly.

You might now be able to understand the benefits of placing emphasis on developing an automated coaching system over concentrating on sponsoring reps, so consider shifting your focus now to accelerate your performance tomorrow.
