PLR content (Private Label Rights) may be a very good resource for anyone trying to get ahead in the online marketing world. This is not merely due to the fact that PLR articles and PLR e-books may be picked up quite cheaply these days, but also because these products have an inherent value in that a substantial amount of (keyword) research and writing already has been done for you.
The difficulty with PLR content is, however, in many cases, that you are not the only one online who will be using it. Many internet business owners know about the power of private label rights products and are using such content to improve their own profits. So it isn't impossible that the material you have before you has previously been bought by dozens, or hundreds, or even thousands of other such marketers, many of which have posted that material, in some form or other, on their web sites.
How to Succeed with PLR
Therefore, we can say the following with reference to how to rewrite your PLR ebook or article: your rewriting should be done in a manner as to assure that the end product becomes really unique. If you follow that rule, you will lessen the probability of being penalized by the search engines. From the perspective of the search engines, unique content will always be a big plus.
Another reason for providing unique e-books and articles is that it serves your readers better. For which visitor likes to come to a blog or web site and find an article that he has already read somewhere else, written by someone else? So even if you may not be punished by the search engines for duplicate content, your visitors may very well complain or become doubtful.
Yet another reason for a more serious rewrite of the PLR content is that no two authors or writers think perfectly the same. So after having bought the PLR article or ebook, you may very well find that the text is not as comprehensive or targeted as you would have liked it to be. Or perhaps it is dated, so that it requires some modernization? Or perhaps the original writer is using a tone of voice that is simply unacceptable to you, or to your readers? Whatever the exact reason, you should seriously consider a rewrite.
Here are some, I hope, useful ways of how to change your PLR ebook or PLR article for better results:
1. Alter the title
Sometimes PLR articles and ebooks have titles that do not suit the text. So then you should change the title into something that is more to the point. This is particularly important for proper search engine optimization. Stay on topic.
And even if the PLR material does not have a badly chosen title, you still have to change it, for it can not be the same title as in the PLR package (which dozens or hundreds of other markets may not have changed before they published it). So you may want to spend some time with Google's free keyword tool to see which title would be most fitting.
2. Reshuffling paragraphs
It is not uncommon to find that, especially in low-quality PLR content, that paragraphs are arranged in a somewhat peculiar order. There may be many reasons for this, including that the paragraphs may not originally have been written to produce the current PLR text.
Whatever the reason for this is, you may be able to fix it, or at least make it better. Just copy and paste some of the paragraphs so that you make a better flow. Even without typing a new word!
3. Remove paragraphs
Erasing one or several paragraphs is another approach to "rewrite" or reorganize the paragraphs. This technique may be especially fitting to apply when one is working with PLR articles and PLR ebooks of low quality, which may have numerous paragraphs that fit badly with the theme of the PLR article or ebook.
4. Reworking paragraphs
This is a method by which you basically hold on to the same central ideas in the paragraph, but you say them a bit differently. Instead of keeping the text "PLR ebooks are ebooks that have Private Label Rights", you could rewrite like this: "PLR texts are electronic texts that grant the owner Private Label Rights."
5. Enlarge paragraphs
Although the previous editing technique of substituting text is quite useful, the most important editing of the text is one where you expand paragraphs. This will make your text both more unique and more useful to your readers.
My idea of expanding paragraphs is, however, not just a point about putting more words into the text. It is about adding new "items" in the text. Examples can be new reasons, new arguments, new conclusions, new questions, new data, etc.
It is true that all these new items may make a paragraph much longer, and there may be a need to split a paragraph up to accomplish that. But that is just fine, for it makes your rewritten ebook or article even more unique.
6. Add Applicable Links
Some PLR ebooks and articles include links and keywords. In some cases you may want to keep those. In other cases you don't. In their place you may want to insert your own links and keywords that may be more suitable for your purposes.
Be very careful, however, with relevance. Do not use links that are not relevant to the main text. For instance, in an article on how to fry vegetables, don't include an affiliate link to your "solar power" product or to some other article on, say, your expertise as a cat trainer. Be relevant!
Final remarks
It is certainly doable to succeed online by using PLR articles and PLR ebooks. But in order to serve the customer well, one has to be careful to make the products not only unique but also clear and informative.
Also adding other items and components to your e-book or article, such as photos, illustrations, graphs and videos may make your audience even more satisfied with your product. So modify carefully and wait for your profits to increase!
