Private Label Rights (PLR) products such as e-books and articles are powerful resources that can make your internet business more profitable. By using articles and ebooks that are already researched and written, one may be able to speed up the publishing of one's texts.
The problem, however, is that using such private label rights resources is not as quick or simple as many salesmen would like you to believe. It is, in other words, not really advisable to just purchase some off-the-shelf PLR article or ebook, spend a few minutes on it, and then publish it as your own. There is more work involved.
The Problem
The problem is this: to be able to make the most of it, one has to really edit the Private Label Rights content significantly, not just slightly. This is to make sure that the search engines are going to index the material favourably, and to make sure that the audience are not faced with e-books and articles that they have already read elsewhere.
The job at hand is therefore to rewrite the content substantially. One may very well decide to reshuffle or erase certain paragraphs. Or one may enlarge already existing paragraphs. Or one may put in new arguments, reasons, questions, and answers. Anything to make the ebook or article better and more unique.
But Where Is the Time to Do It?
But you might ask yourself how to get the job done. For you may have bought the private label rights products just to stay away from having to do a lot of work in the first place. So you might now be thinking that you are looking at the very same piece of work that you tried to steer clear of before.
But that is not really so. Even though a revision of a document, whether it is an ebook or article, surely involves the "same" type of actions (namely writing, editing, researching, etc.), the total amount of work is still much less than if one would write everything from scratch.
And the good thing is that you may not even have to do all of the work yourself. Here are some ways of how to proceed with the rewrite:
1. Use Software Products
Some powerful software products have the ability to rewrite (or "spin") e-books and articles so that they become unique. But it is wise to be watchful here, for some software systems produce crappy output, and others may produce good texts but not perhaps stylistically suitable for you.
It is for that reason virtually always necessary to look over the newly generated content manually after it has been through the software product. It is quite probable that you may have to do a new round of editing after it has been "spinned".
2. Hire a Freelancer
Signing up an expert freelancer to produce wholly innovative material to your website might be practically unworkable for a new website owner, since truly original material may be quite expensive.
However, since you already have bought the Private Label Rights articles or ebooks, the idea is not to write innovative material from scratch, but only to do some editing using different words, and perhaps also expanding on a few of the conclusions in various places.
It might be a good idea to collect a dozen or two PLR articles at a time (or a whole Private Label Rights e-book), and then ask your external writer for a "package price" for the whole set. That way you may be able to get a better quote per paragraph or page than if you just submitted one or two separate articles.
3. Hire a Guest Blogger
Perhaps you may like to call a guest blogger to write on your website? You might tell him or her that you have Private Label Rights material that he or she can use. In that way you will be able to generate new material for the blog without you having to do any rewriting and rearranging of your own.
The problem with this idea is, however, that the guest blogger may expect to get paid, or to receive some other compensation from you. Every deal is different, and you have assess the arrangement when you know what is on the table, to see whether or not it is worth it.
4. Do It All On Your Own
If you are one of those who really love writing, then you might consider doing all of the editing work yourself. If that is your thing, then you will not be overly panicky by the amount of rewriting work that is needed, since you would know that it still is substantially less work than writing anything from the ground up.
Also, doing the work yourself leaves you in complete control of the product, both in terms of style and content. And since you also presumably have lots of knowledge about the subject matter, you will produce the text more rapidly than most other freelancers around.
Some Final Remarks
PLR articles and ebooks are great assets. But they have got to be significantly rewritten to be fruitfully used in your business.
The good news is that the rewriting can be done in many different ways, and you may not even be required to be involved in that practice. "Spinning software", guest bloggers, and freelance ghost writers may be able to help you out, either partially or completely.
